Terms of Use
Last updated 13 September 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses findirish.ie ("FindIrish", "we"), based in Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland. By using the site you accept them. If you claim or add a business listing, the business owner terms in section 5 also apply.
1. What FindIrish is
FindIrish is a directory of businesses trading in Ireland. Listings are compiled from the Companies Registration Office open register, from information supplied by business owners, and from publicly available sources. A listing is not a recommendation, endorsement or guarantee by FindIrish of any business, its qualifications, insurance or work.
2. Accuracy of information
We work to keep listings accurate and up to date, but we cannot verify every detail. Before hiring any business you should independently confirm registrations that are legally required for the work (for example RGI for gas work, Safe Electric for electrical work, PSRA for property services), insurance cover, and prices. Price guides shown on FindIrish are indicative ranges from published sources, not quotes. Distances are approximate and, for town-level addresses, measured from the centre of the town.
3. Using the site
You may use FindIrish for personal and business use to find and contact businesses. You may not: copy, scrape or bulk-download listings; use the site to send spam or unsolicited marketing to listed businesses; post unlawful, defamatory or misleading content; interfere with the site's operation; or use it in a way that breaches Irish or EU law.
4. Reviews
- Reviews can only be written by a customer who requested a quote through FindIrish and confirms that the work was carried out. This is how we comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which makes it an offence to publish fake reviews or to present reviews as verified without taking reasonable steps to check them.
- Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience, and must not contain personal data about other individuals, abusive language or unlawful content.
- Businesses may not write reviews of themselves or competitors, pay for reviews, or offer incentives for positive reviews. Doing so results in removal of the listing.
- A business may reply publicly to a review. Either party may report a review to info@findirish.ie; we investigate and remove reviews that breach these rules, and we keep a record of what was removed and why.
- We never remove a genuine negative review at a business's request.
5. Business owner terms
- Free listing. Every business trading in Ireland may claim or add one listing free of charge. You confirm you are authorised to represent the business.
- Accuracy. Everything you add must be true and not misleading, in line with the Consumer Protection Act 2007. Register numbers (RGI, Safe Electric, SEAI, PSRA and others) must be your own and current; we check them against the public registers and remove badges that cannot be confirmed.
- Ranking. Position in results is determined by profile completeness, distance from the visitor and years trading. Ranking cannot be bought. Premium services (when offered) add visibility features such as featured placement clearly labelled as such; they never change the organic ranking.
- Quote requests. Customer details sent to you may only be used to respond to that request. Reply times are measured and may be displayed.
- Premium services. Paid plans, when available, are billed in advance, can be cancelled at any time for the end of the current period, and are subject to the price and features shown at purchase. Consumer cancellation rights under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013 apply where you are acting as a consumer.
- Removal. You can remove information you added, or the whole listing, at any time — see the Listing & removal policy.

7. Liability
FindIrish is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, FindIrish is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, from reliance on listing information, or from any contract you enter into with a listed business. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under Irish law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
